Welcome and greetings from ABQ Education Group. As the CEO of the largest international school operator in Oman, it gives me pleasure to share our aspirations and guiding principles with you.

We are acutely aware of the rapidly changing needs in K-12 education and constantly raise our game in response to the task at hand. It is displayed in the following ways:

Change is the only constant

We live in a world where the pace of change is constantly accelerating. Our students will face a world that is much more challenging than ever before. As education providers, we cannot prepare our students for this reality if we do not evolve and change ourselves. Constant change is the fundamental driver of evolution at ABQ Education Group.

We have always been good at what we do. Now we aspire to be great. With close to 60 years of cumulative school operating experience and 350+ educators, ABQ has a wealth of knowledge and expertise within the Group. We continuously raise the bar and challenge ourselves and our students to become the best we can be.

The ABQ Way

Over time, we have taken best practices from each of our schools and created a standardised operator model. We have a common mission and vision, values, education philosophy, teaching and learning framework, technology platform and administrative policies and procedures. This “ABQ Way” assures our students and parents a consistent and sustainable, high-quality educational experience.

We are committed to achieving academic excellence by promoting innovative teaching methods, investing in quality staff, and outstanding academic platforms. We have a world-class Chief Learning Officer for all academic initiatives and offer extra classes and other support mechanisms to ensure that every student reaches their full potential.

The Digital Era

Digital learning emerged as a necessary resource for students and schools all over the world. The ABQ 1:1 Chromebooks have become a key component in creating an effective, interactive learning opportunity for all ABQ international school students, whether in KG or Grade 12. All Chromebooks come preloaded with the best-in-class digital platforms. Teachers effectively combine innovative, online educational materials with the best traditional classroom teaching methods.

21st Century skills

We believe that academic achievement should be complemented by essential character traits and life skills – a whole-child approach. We have adopted the globally recognised 21st Century Skills Programme which was designed to ensure that every child masters the twelve most critical skills needed to thrive in tomorrow’s world. Every teacher incorporates the development of these skills in their lesson plans.

Personalised Education

We want to identify the unique skills, talents and aptitudes of every student. Therefore, ABQ developed the bespoke Discovering You Programme (DYP). It is a mentorship programme for Grades 3-12 which incorporates, depending on age, important elements such as academic performance, 21st-century skills assessments, aptitude tests, career field aspirations, career workshops, subject pathways, university and scholarship goal setting, career role models, and more. A highly skilled and passionate programme director ensures sustainable implementation of DYP.

Our motto is We Care. A positive, nurturing milieu is an indispensable part of learning. Students feel comfortable and safe in a welcoming and caring environment. When healthy relationships with peers and teachers flourish, learning happens spontaneously.

Support Structure

ABQ is a team effort! Our most important stakeholders are, of course, the students and parents because they are the reason we exist. Others who play vital roles in our success are our teachers and support staff, the regulators, the community and our shareholders.
